The Blue Book Building and Construction Network®, an Employee-Owned enterprise, has a number of open positions for candidates interested in building long-term business relationships within the commercial construction industry. Here are the open positions we currently have available:

  • Private Project Consultant – New Jersey

    • As a key member reporting to our Project Information Director, you will have the responsibility to:
      • Report new and updated information on predesign, design, and bidding construction projects from Owners and Architects for our national network of customers;
      • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major players in the construction industry via face-to-face, email, and phone meetings to promote the value of The Blue Book Network;
      • Schedule and conduct Lunch & Learn meetings with architects to promote the collaborative value of our Architect Keystone Alliance (AKA);
      • Secure electronic plans and specifications for pertinent projects so our customers can effectively prepare bids on project opportunities;
      • Work collaboratively with regional counterparts, both in the field and in the regional office, to ensure complete territory coverage and follow-up;
      • Attend industry events/organizations on an as-needed basis to gain valuable industry knowledge and foster relationships;
      • Develop strategies to overcome obstacles to sources hesitant to participate in the network;
      • Work collaboratively with the reporting staff to share best practices, industry information and work across geographic boundaries where needed;
      • Work collaboratively with regional sales representatives to assure the value of projects are communicated to our customers;
      • Other special projects as assigned.
  • Human Resources Manager

    • Position Summary: This role is a senior level generalist who will help support and facilitate the employee experience.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, planning and coordination of all human resources activities including the development and oversight of programs and initiatives in the areas of recruiting, staffing, leadership & employee development, performance management, and employee relations in order to attract, motivate and retain a high performing workforce. Emphasis will be on aligning human resources initiatives with business objectives and promoting a high performance environment. The position will also supervise, develop, and coach other HR professionals in the organization.
  • Outbound Sales Consultant

    • As a key member reporting to our Outbound Sales Supervisor, you will have the responsibility to:

      • Learn and internalize The Blue Book experience and sales process in support of our value proposition;
      • Interact daily with prospects utilizing our sales process to set up new business appointments for outside sales team;
      • Present and sell our product/services through GoToMeeting application – Internal Sales Revenue;
      • Act upon and display consultative skills to successfully represent our products and services to build and strengthen appointment pipeline;
      • Communicate with prospects assigned based on geography/region to support sales revenue campaigns and appointments and verify company information for database accuracy;
      • Communicate with Business Development Consultants on appointment setting activity and results;
      • Support creative prospect campaigns to deliver The Blue Book experience and value story using outbound call center;
      • Develop and strengthen relationships with prospects;
      • Become knowledgeable and responsible for speaking to our 560 Blue Book classifications;
      • Create and update records accurately within our internal database system;
      • Responsible for effectively attaining Key Performance Indicators as defined by Director and Editor;
      • Create sales proposals within SOS;
      • Represent The Blue Book and its products in a professional, ethical and responsible manner;
      • Cross-train and become proficient with each of our current Database Communications campaign objectives;
      • Ability to learn and become knowledgeable and proficient in proprietary software applications;
      • Assist in yearly Database Communications projects (Pre-production, Live Production, etc.);
      • Be knowledgeable and proficient in all company products, sales programs, policies and procedures, and use all support tools and resources effectively;
      • Observe and follow all company policies and procedures;
      • Perform other special projects as assigned.
