New format. New opportunities. One option…evolution.
It’s been said that: “Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.”
Our company’s 103-year history of growth is founded on a steadfast commitment to careful evolution. Our information solutions have continued to grow in order to successfully meet the evolving needs of our members and the construction industry. Today, I am proud to introduce The Blue Book Network®‘s latest endeavor to fulfill that mission.
Welcome to The Who’s Who in Building & Construction.
This new magazine-style format is built on the foundation the industry has come to rely on from The Blue Book Network® – quality, accurate, regional information. Unlike our traditional directory, this new publication is not limited to annual cycles and provides exclusivity to our Premier Network Members. True to its title, the magazine contains two key sections featuring the “Who’s Who” in a specific market. The Trade Index provides an easy to use classified section showcasing our Customers, and the Alpha Index offers a standard alphabetized listing pointing to the Customer’s ProView® at thebluebook.com for deeper company information.
From the first directory in 1913, to our website launch in 1997, to the deployment of thebluebook.com‘s growing suite of applications, our path has always been steered by the industry’s challenges – and opportunities. We are indebted to our founder and CEO, James O’Malley, for instilling this core principle in each of us at The Blue Book Network®. Today, that’s comprised of 550 Employee-Owners, to whom Mr. O’Malley transferred ownership prior to the company’s 100th anniversary. It was “Jim’s way” of passing the torch and the passion for us to carry on.
“It’s a central part of a new era in delivering best-in-class information through a variety of formats.”
Our plan is to distribute regional editions of “Who’s Who” across the country in 2016. It’s a central part of a new era in delivering best-in-class information through a variety of formats. While the launch of a new print product may seem surprising given the popularity of our online solutions, your demand for a simple, tangible tool that works “where your smart phones won’t” was clear and consistent!
So go ahead and get acquainted with this inaugural edition of “Who’s Who“! We hope you find it a valuable resource and encourage your feedback to ensure it meets your evolving needs. On behalf of our Employee-Owners, we thank you for allowing us to go to work for your business. You can be certain that continuous growth and evolution will remain our only option in helping you build success today and in the years to come.
President, The Blue Book Network®
